Aloe vera in a pot. Practical tips

At Lanzaloe, we understand the importance of keeping your Aloe vera plant in top shape. If you've chosen to grow this versatile plant in pots, whether indoors or outdoors, you're on the right path to reap its benefits. Here, we present our top tips for caring for Aloe vera in pots, ensuring it thrives healthily and vibrantly.

1. Choose the right pot and soil:

To start off on the right foot, ensure you select a pot with drainage holes at the base and a lightweight, well-drained soil mix. This will prevent root saturation and rot. Opt for a wide and shallow pot to prevent excessive weight and enable easy relocation if needed.

2. Find the perfect spot:

Aloe vera thrives in direct sunlight, but avoid exposing it during the hottest hours of the day. It's also sensitive to frost and excessive rain.

3. Master the art of watering:

The key to a happy Aloe vera is proper watering. This plant needs little water. You can water it every 15-20 days or so. When in doubt, let the top layer of soil dry out completely before watering again. Remember: less is more when it comes to watering!

4. Don't forget temperature and humidity:

Keep your plant in a warm, moderate environment. Protect it from cold draughts. The ideal temperature ranges between 17 and 27°C. Additionally, avoid excessive ambient humidity to prevent fungal issues.

5. Give it a boost with fertilizer:

While your Aloe vera doesn't need frequent fertilization, an occasional boost can be beneficial. Use a diluted balanced fertilizer once a month during the growing season.
